The
object of the game is to be first to score 17 points. You score a point
when you capture an opponent piece and when you occupy an opponent Home
Space. If you occupy all three opponent Home Spaces, you get 2 bonus points.

With
a throw of the dice of, say, 4 and 3, you move a piece (Queen or Pawn)
by 4 spaces and another by 3; or you have the option of moving just one
Queen by itself by 7 spaces.
You
move along the lines, in any direction, and can change direction where
two lines meet. You count all spaces along your path, whether occupied
or not.
You
capture an opponent piece when it is resting on a Regular Space and your
piece reaches that space by exact count. Pieces are safe from capture
when resting on a Safety Space or a Home Space. You may also capture an
opponent piece by trapping it between two Home Spaces occupied by you.
Captured pieces are removed from the board.
In
each round, play ends when a player occupies all three of the opponents
Home Spaces, or when one of the players has no pieces left that can move.
The scores are tallied and the board is reset for another round of play.
Three rounds are often necessary to score a total of 17 points. The game
ends SUDDEN DEATH as soon as one of the players reaches the score of 17
points.
